The unique Ronnefeldt TeaMaster® Program has been in operation since 2003. Service personnel from the best hotels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and other relevant international hospitality markets have earned the qualification of TeaMaster® Silver or Gold in the multi-level program. The training to become a TeaMaster® includes theoretical knowledge of the most important tea cultivation areas, plucking and processing methods. The practical component of the course includes learning different tasting techniques and several methods of preparation and presentation. The training for TeaMaster® Gold is a real on-the-job training and takes place in the tea gardens of Sri Lanka.
“The tea service in hotels is a profitable but complex business as besides a flair for consultation it also demands extensive knowledge of the product and its presentation”, Jan-Berend Holzapfel, Owner of J.T. Ronnefeldt KG, explains the training program. The trained TeaMasters® bridge the gap between the expectations one has of a top class hotel and the everyday service on location: They convey their tea expertise to guests, colleagues and employees and create sophisticated tea concepts for the needs of their target guest groups. The qualified experts stage afternoon teas, conduct seminars and advise their hotels or restaurants on the choice of teas for their individual collections and give impulses to the F&B departments for the expansion of the tea value creation chain in areas such as more original cocktails, summer iced-tea creations and the trendy “Cooking with Tea”.
Currently two dozen trained TeaMasters® are working in the best and most prestigious hotels in the United Arab Emirates. In the latest class candidates from One & Only Royal Mirage, Atlantis The Palm, Kempinski Emirates Palace, Sofitel, Mövenpick, the Meydan Hotel, Intercontinental, Chedi Muscat and Fairmont Fujairah enhanced their tea skills.
