Mazcot, a contractor of the Al Mazroui Group, is currently working on a new residential building in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi. Its handover is scheduled for October 2021.
Decades of Know-How
ADCE has entrusted Mazroui Construction Technology (Mazcot) to construct a residential building of seven typical floors and a roof floor. Founded in 1980 in Abu Dhabi, Mazcot has established itself as a trusted and renowned general contractor in the United Arab Emirates. For 40 years, this member of the Al Mazroui Group has delivered significant residential and commercial edifices, as well as places of worship.
A Family-Friendly Area
The new residential building Mazcot is constructing will be located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, more commonly referred to as 'MBZ City'. Located on the edge of Abu Dhabi, it is a quiet and family-friendly community.
Thirty minutes away from downtown Abu Dhabi, MBZ City is almost completely developed and many families are opting for this area because of its wide range of housing options. Moreover, its location on the outskirts of the capital makes it easier to head straight to Dubai.
This mixed-use development is becoming a city in the city where residents enjoy several lifestyle amenities: mosques, schools, shops and restaurants. As for Mazcot's new project, it will be close to two schools and a medical centre.
Safe and peaceful, the community offers several parks and playgrounds. MBZ Park, for instance, features a play area and greenery for families to have picnics or simply stroll along. This public park is also ideal for jogging or some light exercise. Moreover, there are plenty of gyms and fitness studios in the area. For shopping aficionados, Dalma Mall is 10 to 12 minutes away from MBZ City.
Focus on Sustainability
The new building Mazcot is in charge of has achieved Estidama’s rating level Pearl 1. This means that all the mandatory credit requirements set by the program have been met.
Estidama, which means sustainability in Arabic, is the initiative aiming to transform Abu Dhabi into a model of sustainable urbanisation. It is based on four pillars: environmental, economic, cultural and social.
Similar to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the Pearl rating system provides guidance for rating a project in relation to these four pillars. The project has to encourage cross-disciplinary teamwork to deliver efficient environmental and quality management. Moreover, it has to preserve the region’s critical natural environments and habitats. This evaluation also verifies that the consumption of water and energy are reduced through design measures and the use of renewable sources.
The construction of this new residential building by Mazcot in MBZ City should take eighteen months, with a handover scheduled for October 2021.
