Oct 2017 | Al Mazroui
Prestigious owner of multiple coveted awards granted by ADNOC Group of Companies, Habshan Trading Company (HTC) is one of the recognized top 10 suppliers of industrial equipment to the oil, gas and power generation sectors in UAE.
Founded in 1975, HTC most recent titles won include: ADMA Supplier Recognition Program (SRP), ADGAS award for Excellence Performance, GASCO Excellent Supplier Award.

The company’s name and business strength is the result of a skilled and reliable team, excellently guided by visionary managers with true leadership qualities. HTC stands as an example in driving excellence which didn’t fall in the trap of mixing up management with leadership.

These terms are derived from international business language unfortunately are used with emphases but badly understood by pseudo-professionals. They have generated ample discussions over time in the circles of even the most convinced connoisseurs of the business and associated sectors.
In the hope of a better business environment, HTC introduces some light and shade into these notions in order to remove any blur which could mislead the new generation professionals:

“Leadership” is a process of social influence, whereby an individual (not in the sense of the word) puts his mark on the decisions of the group to which he belongs; determines group cohesion, in order to impose or modulate the conditions for fulfilling an objective / tasks (or perhaps even non-fulfillment). This process has (or should have) another precursor process: self-leadership. In other words, if you know how to lead yourself, you have all the chances of guiding the others.

A good professional is the one who formed as a "leader" becomes a "manager" and conducts "management" activity to coordinate the subordinated workforce to achieve the objectives of the work plan. These are the guidelines HTC uses in their human resource management, which proved efficient throughout the decades. HTC is proud of each member of the HTC family, whose contribution to success is recognized and appreciated.

"Know thyself," Socrates said, and you will have the chance to become a leader and then a manager…
