A Global Company
Proclad was established in 1970 in the United Kingdom as a machining supplier to the oil and gas industry and was known as Forth Tool and Valve (FTV). It was the first company worldwide to develop what is now recognised as the automated weld cladding process. Its branch in the United Arab Emirates is part of the Al Mazroui Group.
Its presence in the UAE goes back to 1996 when Proclad opened its first local facility in the Esnaad base of Mussafah (Abu Dhabi). Five years later, the company opened its first hot induction bending facility in the UK. In 2006, Proclad opened a facility in Singapore to cater for the south east Asia market.
Proclad is now firmly established locally and overseas with sub office in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and Indonesia.
Strongly Established in the UAE
In 2010, Proclad opened a new purpose-built facility in Jebel Ali, to meet the increasing demand for clad products, whilst still retaining the original facility in Mussafah. Five years later, a third facility in the UAE was opened in Jebel Ali to offer pipe spooling, hot induction bending and heat treatment. Followed in 2018 by the opening of a fourth facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) to cater for skids, pressure vessels, piping spools, high pressure manifolds and storage tanks.
Today, Proclad UAE has 60 pipe cladding machines and can accommodate pipes up to 12 metres long. The company also offers clad pipes manufactured by hydroforming process. It is a process where a Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) liner is formed into the shape of the mother carbon steel pipe, using hydrostatic pressure to provide mechanical bond between the two materials.
Its purpose-built facilities in the UAE are specialised in providing total engineering and corrosion solution for all types of oilfield valves, pumps and wellhead equipment. Over the years, the company has developed its expertise in valves and wellhead equipment manufacturing, upgrade and repair, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, field assistance, welding, testing and installation, weld overlay cladding and High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) coating.
In addition to the above workshop activities, Proclad UAE has expanded its business to provide on-site valve repairs and refurbishment services during plant shutdowns and annual turnarounds. This service is now provided through a well-equipped containerised workshop. It can be mobilised to the site of the end-user, saving time and meeting planned shutdown schedules.
